To check my work email and use Skype for Business, I really prefer to use a WIFI connection without have to switch in a VPN connection.Skype for business for mac os. Also, everything else I use works on my smartphone using UVerse WIFI.ĭoes anyone have an idea on why email with Outlook 365 and Skype for Business doesn’t work using a UVerse router. I suspect the subnet my replaced UVerse is now on is not IPV6 ready and both may require IPV6 to negotiate a connection or IPV4 secure certificates are being blocked. And yes, I have already restarted (power cycled) the Uverse router several times with no luck. I hope I do not have to contact AT&T support and go through the routine of “Let’s start by rebooting your PC.” even though the issue is really with a different device.

I have been checking the settings on a my UVerse router and cannot find what is causing the issue that is with using Outlook 365 email and Skype for business. They just don’t work over my UVerse router WIFI connection. What is even more puzzling, at Starbucks, Panera Bread or just about anywhere using free WIFI both my work email and Skype for business work just fine. When at home using my smartphone over UVerse WIFI and both my work email and Skype for business are not working, if I add a VPN connection in my smartphone to my work network, both my work email a Skype for Business work fine even though services are really in the cloud and not on my work network! Again, both still work using mobile data only. Here’s the part that is making me wonder. When I am at work the next day using WIFI, both work fine.

Recently, my UVerse router at home was replaced to resolve other issues and I started to notice I could no longer check my work email or use Skype for Business when my smartphone is using UVerse WIFI, and I kept dismissing it as server issues. At home, I used to use a WIFI connection to my UVerse router to save using up my mobile data. I have a Android Nexus 6P smartphone setup to check my work email and use Skype for business and both work using mobile data only and, on WIFI at work. Both servers do not exist on the network at work and are really running somewhere out there on the cloud. My work uses Outlook 365 for email and Skype for Business.
